Deadline for applying for your child to start school in September 2026

A child can start school in September after they turn 4. 

Please click on this link to apply to Somerset Council.  The online form for starting school applications opened on 29 September 2025 and the deadline is 15th January 2026.

If you applied online by 15 January 2026, you will receive an email with the outcome of your application on 16 April 2026. If you applied using a paper application form your outcome will be sent out by second class post on 16 April 2026.
